Let's start with some sweetdish. ( 'CoCo' ladoos)

They say that you start any new stuff by eating some sweet. So my first recipe is obviously going to be a sweet .
This one is really different . A perfect blend of Coconut and Cocoa . And that's why the name CoCo ladoos.
So for this you need
  • 2 cups freshly grated coconut
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee ( clarified butter)
  • 2-3 drops of vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnut
Method:-
  1. In a nonstick pan mix sugar, milk and cocoa powder and mix well.Cook till the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Then add the grated coconut and cook on low flame. Stir continuously.
  3. When the mixture starts to become thick , add the ghee and cook till the mixture begins to leave the sides of the pan. Now that's the indication that the mixture is ready.
  4. Then remove the pan from the heat and add the vanilla essence and the walnuts.
  5. Semi cool the mixture and then make ladoos .
  6. This one will make around 10 to 12 depending on the size
Tips:-
  1. Try using the freshly grated coconut and not the frozen one. For those who are in the US and have a problem grating it, get a hand grater from any oriental store. Its really easy to use. For those in India ,ask your maids to grate it for you :)
  2. You can use low fat milk for the recipe.
  3. If you are unable to bind the ladoos , put the mixture back in the pan and heat it again for a min or two.
Special Thanks to my very close cousin who used to make these yummy ladoos.
